Depression/Anxiety Forgiveness Joy Trials

listen to your emotions

A post about . . . listening to your emotions? Yup, that's right! It's time for an emotions check-up. Read it at ohbelovedone.com.

Yup, that’s right! You read the title correctly (well done, you literate person, you). Listen to your emotions! Now, here’s the caveat: you also have to decode your emotions.

This is where I often fall flat. I ask myself, “Amanda: what should we do here?” And I do the magical, fairy INFP-thing and say, “Well, self, how does Option A make you feel? What about Option B? Hmmmmm I get the butterflies with B and A is an almost solid gut-yes so we’re going with A.”

And I’ve never gone wrong. *insert heavy, post-Christmas-cookie-Santa sarcasm*

Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend this. But, to everything, there’s a balance. Some people don’t listen to their feelings at all and, when they finally break, there’s this mess of anxiety and bitterness and jealousy and it’s like ohhhhhhh that’s why I felt kinda weird all this time.

So, let’s do a check-up. Right here, right now. I’m not the Feelings Police (although I wouldn’t mind that office, thank you very much) but I’m backing up my diagnoses with solid biblical truth. Bookmark this page and come back to it often!
