I know many people who fully support evolution as the answer to the world’s origins, but I’ve never subscribed to it.
And here’s why! Whether you’re an Evolution Subscriber or not, I’d love for you to read below and comment your thoughts. I’m no scientist, but I am a person who loves knowledge and God (but God ALWAYS presides over my own knowledge).

Why I don’t believe in evolution (even a God-driven evolution)
1.If we can’t trust the Bible to begin with, why should we believe it at all?
Literally the first chapter of the Bible gives a very detailed account of creation, day by day. Yes, some portions of the Bible are analogy or allegory, but that’s mainly in the New Testament.
If the very first chapter of the Bible is just hyperbole or allegory, who are we to decide that the Red Sea story is not allegory? How can we trust any other miraculous story in the Old Testament, or the Bible as a whole?
Going through the Bible piece by piece expecting colorful parables everywhere is a very dangerous game to play.
2. Believing in evolution places human logic over God.
A big argument against the creation story is that it just doesn’t make sense. Famously, President Thomas Jefferson cut out portions of the Bible he couldn’t logically believe.
Stories about the blind being healed, oceans being parted, the sun standing still, fire and brimstone raining from the sky, and the Savior of the world being raised from the dead certainly can’t stand up to our logic.
But the Christian faith is exactly that: faith. Much of our beliefs can be backed by science, eyewitness accounts, archaeological finds, and other sturdy evidence, but at the end of the day “we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Turning the cheek when someone insults you isn’t logical.
Forgiving someone who has abused you isn’t normal.
Choosing to stay married for the rest of your life, even during the not-so-fun times, isn’t mainstream.
But God asks us to believe in something bigger: something that our sin-cursed, finite minds can’t comprehend in this life.
“Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” ( John 20:29)
There’s more where this came from.
3. God had a reason for His 7-day example.
If God had created the world via evolution, why would the Bible take the time to map out the steps? Why be so specific, so generic, so confusing??
The 7-day example reminds us that God created six days for us to work and a seventh day to rest. Maybe it’s hard for people to accept this model because we all know how selfish we can be with that seventh day.
4. Our God doesn’t have to be explained.
“God is not a God of confusion but of peace.” (1 Corinthians 14:33)
When I hear evolution-believing Christians explain away the creation story, there’s so many presuppositions and theories involved.
“Well, this word means this actually…”
“Ya know, maybe it was more like in the first billion years, not on the first day…”
To them, I say how about this:
Genesis 1—2 (portions)
“God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
And there was evening and there was morning, the first day…
And there was evening and there was morning, the second day...
And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.
And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.
And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.
And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.”
It’s pretty clear!
Disclaimer: I do want to mention that while I believe strongly in the literal 7-day creation, I also believe strongly that there will be Christians in heaven who did not believe the way I do. Our salvation is not contingent on the specifics of how the world was made.

In Closing
God doesn’t exist because I believe He exists. I’m content living my life knowing there are some things I’ll never understand, from events in my life to biblical stories about the supernatural. Thankfully, God isn’t limited to my own intellect, and I look forward to one day understanding when I am restored to His image in heaven.
